Farewell, Tony Snow

We’re sorry to hear of the passing of Tony Snow at age 53. He always carried himself with grace and humility, but I hadn’t realized to what extent until I found this link to a piece he wrote last summer about his battle with cancer.

Blessings arrive in unexpected packages—in my case, cancer.
[...]
I don’t know why I have cancer, and I don’t much care. It is what it is—a plain and indisputable fact. Yet even while staring into a mirror darkly, great and stunning truths begin to take shape. Our maladies define a central feature of our existence: We are fallen. We are imperfect. Our bodies give out.

But despite this—because of it—God offers the possibility of salvation and grace.

Amen.

unfortunately, death is a part of our reality. But for the unsaved…hopefully a wake up to eternal life in Jesus Christ
And for the Christian..the born again believer in Christ, the purifying and filter agent of our soul when we die and go on to be with Christ in Heaven and all eternity.

  2. Christie C. Said,

First, the ‘regular boy scout’, aka Tim Russert[Catholic, Jesuit-trained], passes away ‘unexpectedly’–then, one of the all-time nicest guys–aka Tony Snow[Catholic convert]–suddenly passes away–and, I thought he’d actually been doing so much better, too[but, why did he begin working on CNN?!]…well, perhaps I take what I read, that’s written by goroadachi, a bit too seriously–bethatasitmay–I’m now waiting for the next ‘warm, wonderful, witty, fair-minded, terrifically talented, famous guy, or gal, to suddenly find themselves listed in the obt column of their favorite fish wrapper…how sad this all is, too.
