No Thermageddon
Do you think that the opinion of the scientist in charge of several NASA climate programs will change the minds of global warming alarmists?
“My own belief concerning anthropogenic climate change is that the models do not realistically simulate the climate system because there are many very important sub-grid scale processes that the models either replicate poorly or completely omit. Furthermore, some scientists have manipulated the observed data to justify their model results. In doing so, they neither explain what they have modified in the observations, nor explain how they did it.
(Emphasis mine.)
It’s important to note that before he retired, Dr. John Theon supervised James Hansen, the activist-scientist usually cited in media stories, like the recent page one article about Barack Obama having “four years to save the Earth”. In short, Hansen’s former boss apparently believes that Hansen tweaks his data to force models to spit out the desired result: Imminent Thermageddon!
The Register provides a good summary of a recent example of how the numbers were fudged to show warming where none existed.
Remember, it’s not about the climate; it’s about control. Good thing President Obama can afford to crank the thermostat in the Oval Office to orchid-growing temperature while he’s waiting to sign a stimulus bill that would spend billions of dollars on 40 million “smart meters” to monitor and reduce home energy use.
