Atlas Shrugged was, of course, Rand’s warning against the alleged dangers of self-sacrifice.
This is consistent with Rand’s atheist worldview. In the absence of an external, omnipotent arbiter of right and wrong, the only logical course of action for an atheist/objectivist is, “Do unto others — and do it quick, before they do it to you.”
