What happens when God gives mutually exclusive messages to different pastors? We’ll find out in November.
Prosperity gospel preacher Kenneth Copeland told Rev. Rafael Cruz that his son, Republican candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, has been “called and anointed” to be the next president of the United States.
However, dozens of African-American pastors, led by Methodist pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell of Houston, recently laid hands on Hillary Clinton to “decree and declare the favor of the Lord” on her for the presidency.
Oh, brother.
Remember: We are called to be good citizens of the nation, so vote according to your conscience. But let’s not confuse the order of our priorities by conflating God and Country. We’re not voting Jesus into the White House, and the next president won’t appoint Jesus to the Supreme Court.
