My sister got me thinking about the kind of men and woman running for president this year. Her in-laws are from Ohio and so she hears what people on the ground there think about Gov. John Kasich. He seems to be a good man, but there are problems coming to light with the state’s education system, especially the charter school program.
I don’t know whether this is the case with Kasich, but we all know good people who struggled once they reached a position beyond the limit of their abilities.
Conversely, sometimes the best person for a particular job is a real ass.
This may explain the unexpected staying power of Donald Trump in the race. I doubt I’d enjoy spending time in his company, but among all the candidates still standing, he’s the only one who has successfully led other people — and voters are picking up on that.
