Mount Hermon and the Mesopotamian Origin of the Watchers

Moses didn’t invent the story of the Watchers to fill space between Genesis 5 and the story of Noah and the Flood. The Mesopotamians knew about the Watchers — they called them “apkallu,” which roughly means “big water man.”
